The Canadian Angus Association is the largest beef breed organization in the country - in fact registrations of Angus cattle equal more than those of every other breed combined. Black and Red Angus can be found across the entire country, with the majority in Alberta and Saskatchewan. There are 7 provincial Angus Associations representing each area of the country with elected members serving on the Canadian Board of Directors from each region. Approximately 53% of the registered herd in Canada consists of Black Angus with 47% Red Angus. Together, Black & Red Angus breeders provide a strong voice in the Canadian beef industry. The organizing committee for the World Angus Forum has been working hard to prepare a unique and enjoyable forum and tours. Canadian Angus breeders invite you to join us for an exciting summer event in July 2009. Take part as we share our Canadian hospitality and traditional western lifestyle. We will do our best to make you feel welcome and at home. This is the 2nd World Forum to be held in Canada - the first was held July 1985, staged at the then brand new Northlands Park facilities in Edmonton. The growth of the Angus breed in Canada through the years is impressive. |
